Firing someone is never easy. It takes a toll on you. But when someone is as callous as the person in this article, it makes it easier and more palatable. And regarding remote work, I see this as an ongoing problem that will have to be cleaned up. People goof off enough in a work office. I can't imagine how much worse it is with remote working going on.
