America and our constitution were not constructed by only slave holders. There were representatives from 13 colonies, not all of whom condoned and allowed slavery.

And we were not just elites. These were people who wanted to be out from an oppressive monarchy. They risked everything. Many ended their lives poor from their actions, hardly an elite for sure.

In our brief history, we have helped not only many who emigrated here, but many throughout the world. We contribute more than any other nation to help others.

We are not perfect, but people flock here to live. Why? Because they can live a dream that can be achieved.

Our political class has become corrupt. They were never supposed to make a career of being in power. But they have managed to do so and that has to change. No one should be in office for 40 years or more. And wind up wealthy while their constituents do not fare as well.

I appreciate your knowledge and view points. I bet we agree on more than we disagree on.
