Great piece. I found out that I person I was training was making more than I. When I confronted my boss, he was more concerned that I found out than about the issue. I stopped the training immediately and told him that he apparently was better qualified than I and should train me. I left the company shortly thereafter.
And loyalty is a joke. many companies can let you go at any time for any reason or none at all. Yet they expect you to give them your all. When my boss told me about personal vs company time I told him I never thought that way. Since my paycheck said 80 hours, that was exactly what he would get and I stopped putting in anything beyond that. I still did more than probably 95% of the people there.
