I have had some really bad bosses in my time. My first, Jack, was the reason I left APCI.

Jack prevented other managers in the company from talking to me about working in their departments. When I found out, I went to HR. They were no help (shocking) and so I found another job at another company.

Over time I learned to deal with other bad bosses. Made me smarter and tougher. And I also realized that a boss makes a difference. And the bad ones seem to outweigh the number of good ones.

Why? Beats me. Hope companies wake up, but who knows. Till then you need to take care of yourself and make sure when you become a manger you do a better job than the ones who don't.
