I have written about this in Medium. It is about getting different perspectives. This article reinforces that thought. Weigh all sides before making decisions, even those you are not crazy about. If you don't your bias will take over and you can and probably will miss something important.

I once pushed to get a few thousand dollars for legitimate work I and my company had done. The paying agent refused to pay and gave me ridiculous examples of why he shouldn't and essentially threatened me that if I continued to fight for the money I would get no additional business from him and his organization.

While I was clearly in the right, I decided to suck it up and not press any further or challenge him and his stupid reasoning. In that way I and my company would make tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in the future instead of getting a few thousand now and nothing down the road.

Didn't like it, but it was the right decision. The payer is still a jerk, but the work continues.
