I now ask what is to be covered and hold the person responsible to the agenda. If they stray I remind them that we are off track. If it continues, I excuse myself and leave. I also make it clear that I have dedicated only the allotted amount of time requested. If it is going to go over, I remind them I am leaving. Things usually wrap up quickly.

My time is valuable. If people don't respect that, they pay a price. I leave.
