I was always accused of being too involved with my people. Not where I micromanaged but where I got into details. That a bad thing? Don't think so. Then I could make better decisions and really know what was going on. How can you support them without knowing?

When my son got his first assignment in the army he was an officer and a pilot. He took over a maintenance function. Whenever there were trucks or trains to be unloaded he was right there pitching in. His men never had that happen before. They knew he supported them and had their backs and would go through a wall for him. In turn, they loved and respected him.
