We all find what works best for us. I was always looking for that next promotion. I almost got to the point I wanted to be at when things changed. Instead of moving up I moved out. Then I started working for myself. Sure my clients dictated things and so did some other agencies i worked with, but I had control of my circumstances and wasn't about to let myself go.

And I had a better family balance. I worked around them and never missed anything important in my kid's lives. Best thing that ever happened. And I made more money than ever before. Never got a 50% bonus from a company other than my own. And paid the same to ALL of the employees. Best feeling in the world is to share the wealth with others.

Lesson learned. When life hands you lemons make lemonade. And then drink it in front of those who handed you the lemons.
