When facing a problem the first thing I ask is, "What has already been tried?" By knowing this I then know what hasn't worked so I do not waste time trying it again. Instead, I look at other potential solutions, pick what seems best and go with it. Works a large percent of the time. If not, I know one other thing that won't work and I pick what i thought was the next best solution.
